Frequently Asked Questions

Does Rolfing® hurt?

When I tell people that I am a Certified Rolfer™, their first response is usually “Oh, I’ve heard that hurts!” This is NOT the case. Rolfing has moved away from the “no pain, no gain” mentality and has evolved into a more gentle touch, staying within the client’s comfort zone. Communication between practitioner and client is very important.

What do I wear for a Rolfing® session?

Clients wear their normal undergarments for Rolfing sessions. This means a modest pair of underwear and a bra (regular or sport) for women and boxers or briefs for men. During sessions, I may have you get up off the table and move around the room so please avoid wearing thongs or any sheer materials. Clothing that allows you to move and stretch comfortably is very important. If you feel you would be more comfortable in a camisole and gym shorts, that is acceptable as well.

How long are the sessions and how much do you charge?

Each Rolfing session is $150.00 and is 60 minutes long. I am happy to give prospective clients a one-time 30 minute consultation at no charge.

What forms of payment do you take?

I take cash, credit card, personal check, or Venmo. Payment in full is due at each session unless prior arrangements have been made.

What are your cancellation and late arrival policies?

All cancellations made less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment that are not rescheduled will be charged the full session price of $150. Also, If you are running more than 15 minutes late, please text or call me at 828-773-5511 to reschedule.. I value your time as highly as mine and if you are running more than 15 minutes late, there will not be enough time for your complete session as I am not able to extend any appointment lengths.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so as early as possible by calling or texting me at 828-773-5511 and leaving a message if I do not answer.
Seriously folks, Rolfing is the real deal. No just feeling good for a day or two after Bodywork, the results last because after Allie has manipulated and released the connective tissue, in a specific area, she then works with you on subtle shifts you can make in your body as you move. Today’s reminder. Let your arms go Sharon. Nearly fell flat on my ass, didn’t realize how much I used my arms for balance as I walked!

Rolfing is usually done as a 10 session series for many reasons. My reasons are: it has been highly effective for me in relieving chronic pain, specifically nerve pain I had experienced for years, it realigns the structure and posture of the body, it releases the connective tissue which binds our whole body together, it lasts, and it feels really awesome.

All of my massage clients who have received work from her have had great results! Give your Self and those around you the best gift this winter and receive life-changing, effective Bodywork from one of Boone’s best!
